Halesworth offers a range of shopping, education and leisure facilities, which include an 18-hole golf course, outdoor swimming pool, tennis and bowling club. There is a railway station, which links, via Ipswich, to London’s Liverpool Street station. The A144 runs through Halesworth and provides road links to both Norwich (approximately 25 miles to the North) and Ipswich (about 30 miles to the South). The well known town of Southwold is some 9 miles east of Halesworth and is considered by many to be the focal point of what is known locally as the Heritage Coastline. This general area includes the Nature Reserves at Walberswick and Minsmere, as well as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Woodbridge, further to the south.
