Founded by the late Catherine Goddard in 1997, Goddards is an independent agency situated in ‘Town Rooms’ at the top of the Thoroughfare, near the market square in the town of Halesworth, Suffolk.
We sell, let and manage an extensive range of property and endeavour to provide the highest level of customer service, with friendly, knowledgeable sales and rental staff.
At Goddards we take care to really listen to our customers’ requirements and in many cases our local knowledge can help. We are able to assist clients, newcomers in particular, to identify exactly what they want to achieve by their move, which is quite often a complete change of life-style as well as a change of house.
On the rental side we provide either a tenant-finding service or full management of a property. That means for a one-off fee we will find a tenant, do a credit search and draw up an agreement to comply with increasingly complex legislation. Alternatively we will do all of that as well as overseeing the tenancy from start to finish, collecting the rent and organising any necessary repairs.
Halesworth offers a range of shopping, education, arts and leisure facilities, which include an 18-hole golf course, tennis and bowling club and The Cut Arts Centre.
There is a railway station, which links, via Ipswich, to London’s Liverpool Street station. The A144 runs through Halesworth and provides road links to both Norwich (approximately 25 miles to the North) and Ipswich (about 30 miles to the South). The well-known town of Southwold is some 9 miles east of Halesworth and is considered by many to be the focal point of what is known locally as the Heritage Coastline. This general area includes the Nature Reserves at Walberswick and Minsmere, as well as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Woodbridge, further to the south.
If you have a house you would like to sell, are still searching for the right place or if you are interested in renting, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
Manager Richard Leeming
Richard joined to run the business for Jon Goddard in 2010 following the death of Catherine Goddard, but since April 2013 has taken over ownership off the business. Richard is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and with his local knowledge will continue the independent local service principles that Catherine founded the business on. Richard also brings a new skill to the business with his agricultural knowledge and over the years has also handled chattels, machinery and property auctions, been responsible for running landed estates including extensive let property portfolios and farm management as well as Estate Agency and valuation work which will complement the already excellent skills offered by Goddards.
